The position:
The Senior Fundraising Manager for the Greater Montreal Area leads development efforts with businesses, foundations, communities and individuals in this region. The incumbent builds and maintains business relationships, reactivates dormant relationships, supports initiatives in peer networks, and networks at fundraising events. She supports Second Harvest's national expansion by working with all income development sectors (individuals, communities, foundations, corporations). The position is an exceptional opportunity for enterprising, self-reliant and honest individuals with extensive experience in networking, donor sourcing and corporate mobilization. Experience in business-to-business sales, grant applications and fundraising is an asset.
Tasks:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess, develop and manage a pipeline of potential donors.
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets through the creation or renewal of partnerships in Greater Montréal.
- Develop effective proposals for potential donors and, where appropriate, produce corresponding accountability reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute partnership deliverables, ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled diligently and within the agreed upon timelines.
- Ensure that activities are within pre-approved budgets, demonstrating financial accountability and good management in all areas of responsibility.
- Support community fundraising and initiatives in peer networks.
- Assist in the creation of regional fundraising campaigns.
- Lead and manage projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring that initiatives are carried out effectively.
- Analyze fundraising results, using available data to recommend campaign improvements and identify new opportunities for growth.
- Create and lead donor research activities, including conferences and networking opportunities, to support organizational development efforts.
- Maintain donor records and associated activities in the Raiser's Edge database with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Participate in all Second Harvest flagship events to represent the organization and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as required and requested, in order to support the overall objectives of the organization.
The qualities required:
- Enthusiasm: Be inspired by Second Harvest's work and motivated to fight waste and hunger.
- Fundraising skills: Have successfully managed all aspects of community or business partnerships in the for-profit or not-for-profit sectors.
- Communication skills: Bilingual (French and English) and comfortable speaking to large groups of people, including senior managers. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to act quickly: Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment, with an ability to seek creative solutions and help others solve their problems.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Demonstrates innovation and proactivity to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive organizational growth and improve client service.
- Analytical Thinking: Effectively use data to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of the charitable sector: Be aware of best practices in fundraising (through relevant studies or experiences) and the philanthropic landscape in Quebec.
- Autonomy: Be self-motivated and proactive, be able to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
- Knowledge of CRM tools: Proficient in customer relationship management (CRM) systems; Have used Raiser's Edge before is an asset, but is not required. The willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is appreciated.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during special events or during peak periods.
- Asset: have an interest in the environment, food recovery and the fight against hunger. You must reside in Montreal, be bilingual, hold a valid driver's license, and be able to travel within Greater Montreal for meetings and field studies (a mileage allowance will be paid when using your own vehicle).
