Job specification
The Part-Time Product Demonstration Shift Supervisor position requires the preparation and demonstration of food or non-food products to Costco club members. You will need to create positive contact with members in order to promote and boost product sales.

The successful candidate will assist the Manager and Senior Shift Supervisor with daily operations including daily reporting, interviewing and training new product demonstrators. The main task of the position is to demonstrate food and non-food products while assisting the manager when required.

  • Schedule – the successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • The position requires standing for an entire shift and performing routine tasks without sustained supervision.

Job description
The Shift Supervisor will assist the Event Manager in directing and managing warehousing activities related to successful events, promotions and vendor product sales in accordance with established policies and procedures. He/she will influence buyer behavior through customer education, communication, and enthusiastic product promotion and demonstration. The Shift Supervisor will also assist the Event Manager to ensure that CDS remains at the forefront of the global event marketing industry.

Requirements

  • Communicate with the consumer with the goal of building brand awareness and excitement
  • Sell ​​products to members with dynamism
  • Support the direction of the Events Manager regarding all associate related activities in the creation of daily and weekly events, promotions, prestige events and in the growing sale of vendor products
  • Coordinate the organization and execution of non-food events, road shows and special events
  • Maximize customer satisfaction/loyalty through better operations. Lead by example in communicating with customers, creating brand awareness, and generating excitement and sales through sampling and promotions
  • Coordinate the organization and execution of non-food events, road shows and special events
  • Encourage employees to apply the right procedures in terms of events and sales techniques in order to ensure maximum results and achieve the company's sales objectives
  • Assist managers in processing daily event results to provide timely reports to payroll and accounting departments to accurately process vendor payroll and billing
  • Oversee product preparation, display and stocking of vendor products and supplies Ensure associates following DPIS and Scheduling instructions with the goal of providing adequate sample quantities and quality events
  • Assist managers with health, safety and hygiene to maintain a safe and clean work environment for employees and customers in accordance with all OSHA requirements, other government regulations and industry standards. 'business.

Minimum Requirements : The minimum occupational qualifications an individual needs to perform the essential job duties and responsibilities are as follows:                  

Field of Study / Field of Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer-focused, brand and consumer packaged goods company; or a combination of experience from a supplier perspective and a customer perspective
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.

Environmental and Physical Requirements

Land Requirements
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in an in-store retail environment. Typically, you should be able to spend +66% of work time performing the following activities: engage in considerable physical activity, be able to lift and/or push up to 10 kg, stand for long periods of time, use products or cook food as needed for the demonstration, and work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Using proper safety practices when handling produce and/or cooking is essential.
