Team & Job Overview

EDC aims to help Canadian businesses go, grow and succeed internationally, and its Corporate Communications team is looking to build a social media strategy to help it better engage the hearts and minds of its audiences.

As Senior Advisor, Social Media Strategy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the creation of a Corporate Communications social media strategy. This strategy will have over-arching objectives and measures of success for key stakeholders that builds on EDC’s reputation as a thought leader in trade, offering economic insight, global market expertise, while highlighting our corporate values and how they are represented in our customer success stories.

The successful candidate will be an extremely strong project lead, able to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders for feedback and implementation with the goal of creating a social media presence with a unified voice and tone. They will have deep experience building a corporate communications social media strategy, evolving an editorial calendar, as well as maturing a social media listening and engagement strategy. The candidate will understand the importance of creating a unified voice, as well as how to leverage social media data and insights to get EDC’s content and key messages the greatest engagement with its target audiences.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Works with Manager, Corporate Communications Content and Social Media Strategy and Corporate Communications leadership to develop the Corporate Communications Social Media Strategy.
  • Prepares and manages project budgets, timelines and scope and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Provides strategic social media expertise and develops a strategy with robust timelines.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement initiatives and service enhancements, while understanding the needs of various external audiences and internal stakeholders.
  • Defines Corporate Communications social media KPIs.
  • Works with external vendor to analyze data, make recommendations on allocation of social media budget.
  • Develops and matures EDC’s social media governance model working with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of social content initiatives.
  • Applies the EDC brand to all social initiatives, while creating a unified voice and tone.
  • Implements social media strategy with EDC’s Corporate Communications stakeholders.
  • Accelerates the social media expertise at EDC by sharing and educating stakeholders on best practices and latest initiatives in social content and technology.

Screening Criteria

  • Undergraduate Degree in Communications or related field
  • Advanced level French for verbal, reading. Intermediate-level French for writing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in social media, digital media and corporate communications
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate communications principles and practices
  • Experience developing a social media strategy with Corporate Communications objectives
  • Experience with social media data analysis

Asset

  • Project Management experience

Salary Range  

  • $87,300 - $131,000

Location  

  • Open to location within Canada
