Quelles seront mes activités principales ?
Sous l’autorité du Directeur administratif du Théâtre français, le/la Coordonnateur(trice) des activités pour l’enfance et la jeunesse et des projets spéciaux assure l’organisation, la réalisation et le suivi des initiatives pour le jeune public et des projets spéciaux selon les orientations et valeurs du Théâtre français.
Le/la coordonnateur(trice) se voit notamment confier les principales responsabilités suivantes :
• Le/la titulaire assiste la Directrice artistique associée pour l’enfance et la jeunesse dans la mise en oeuvre de la programmation. Il/Elle se voit confier les tâches et les responsabilités liées au maintien des liens avec les institutions d’enseignement et au développement des publics familial et scolaire. En outre, en étroite collaboration avec la Directrice artistique associée, il/elle participe activement à la réalisation de différentes actions de médiation autour de la programmation;
• établissement et suivi des échéanciers en lien avec les spectacles et activités pour l’enfance et la jeunesse, en concertation avec les départements, les compagnies, les artistes et le personnel concerné;
• lorsque requis, organisation et mise en oeuvre des projets spéciaux du Théâtre français, y compris rencontres, colloques, expositions et autres projets ou activités analogues.
Quelles sont les compétences requises?
• Diplôme universitaire en Arts ou un minimum de trois à cinq années d’expérience professionnelle dans un poste connexe
• Connaissance des milieux scolaires de la région d’Ottawa-Gatineau
• Passion et une curiosité pour le théâtre, et idéalement, pour le théâtre destiné aux enfants et aux adolescents
• Intérêt au développement des publics et à l’éducation artistique
• Familier(ère) avec le processus de production des spectacles
• Grande capacité de planification, d’organisation et de coordination
• Fait preuve de leadership, d’initiative et démontre de grandes capacités à travailler en équipe
• Capacité d’identifier les priorités, de les gérer et de travailler sous pression
• Bon communicateur, à l’oral et à l’écrit. La connaissance de l’anglais est un atout
• Le/la titulaire du poste peut être appelé(e) à se déplacer dans la région d’Ottawa-Gatineau

What will be my key activities?
Under the authority of the Administrative Director, French Theatre, the Coordinator of Activities for children and youth & Special Projects ensures the organization, implementation and follow-up of initiatives for young audiences and special projects, in accordance with the orientations and values of the French Theatre.
The coordinator will be entrusted with the following main responsibilities:
• The incumbent will assist the Associate Artistic Director, Youth Programming in the implementation of programming. The coordinator will be assigned tasks and responsibilities linked to fostering ties with schools as well as the growth and development of family and school audiences. Moreover, in close collaboration with the Associate Artistic Director, he or she will actively participate in carrying out various community outreach and performance-related activities;
• preparation and scheduling for performances and activities for children and youth in conjunction with the departments, companies, artists and personnel concerned;
• when required, organization and implementation of French Theatre special projects including discussions and get-togethers, symposia, exhibits and similar activities or projects.
What are the required qualifications?
• University Arts degree or three to five years’ professional experience in a similar position;
• Knowledge of the educational milieu in the Ottawa-Gatineau region;
• Passion and curiosity for theatre, and ideally for theatre aimed at children and adolescents;
• Interest in audience development and arts education;
• Familiar with the theatre production process and demonstrate talent for planning, organization and coordination;
• Show leadership, initiative and a capacity for team work;
• Ability to identify and manage priorities, and to work under pressure;
• Strong communication skills required, both oral and written. Good English language skills a definite asset;
• The incumbent may be asked to travel within the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
